The term "Husar" describes an elite group of cavalrymen, leaders of troops for many centuries. Only the bravest and best horsemen were selected. The Hussars werde connoisseurs of good wines and only chose the best. Soon, the term "Husarenwein" was applied th an exceptionally good wine.
In order to make the approach to the subject wine easier for guests as well as for serving staff, the Husar Winery has developed a new wine marketing strategy which led automatically to a new dispensing system.
Baron Schmalvogl defined 12 Husar Wines whose labels are only distinguished by colour and corresponding names. e.g. Red Husar - red label, red bottle cap - Red Burgundy,
