The largest showcase of Austrian wine and perhaps the most elegant wine trade fair in the world, VieVinum took place from 25 to 27 May 2024. The fair was a unique opportunity for Austrian winegrowers and connoisseurs from all over the world to meet, discuss and enjoy wine together.
VieVinum drew guests from all over the world to Vienna at the end of May 2024. Invited by Austrian Wine, international wine experts were able to verify the outstanding quality of Austrian wine for themselves at probably the most elegant wine fair in the world. Numerous supporting events completed every visit to this celebration of Austrian wine.
The central platform for the export success of Austrian wines
The aim of the whole experience, both within the framework of the trade fair and beyond, is to further drive the international market’s affinity for Austrian wine. VieVinum has been a central platform for the export success of Austrian wine since 1998 – a long-term project that is increasingly bearing fruit.

At lunchtime, Austrian Wine guests were invited to stop by the exclusive Austrian Wine restaurant to take a break and enjoy a business lunch. The spacious dining area ensured a relaxed atmosphere and two wine bars provided the perfect accompaniment to Schnitzel, Tafelspitz and more. A great chance to try some traditional Austrian dishes!
Austrian Wine Lounge

The Austrian Wine team welcomed guests to the Austrian Wine Lounge for individually organised meetings. The team at the service desk was also available to look after any queries or concerns. This space also featured a working area with WiFi, PCs and printers, as well as a cosy main lounge area and book corner for taking a break.

The day before the fair, there was once again the exclusive seated tasting of around 100 wines from Austria. In 2024, the flight tasting was held under the topic “International Heroes & Rising Stars”. The “International Heroes” are wines that have achieved the highest awards at international competitions. These are complemented by the new category of “Rising Stars”, which is a curated selection of wines from emerging wineries from all Austrian winegrowing regions, alternative wine styles, and new discoveries.

To kick-off VieVinum, Austrian Wine hosted a warm welcome event to greet and receive more than 400 international guests. The magnificent column hall of the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) and the Salon Plafond offered a fascinating blend of modernity and history that enchanted our visitors. Wine bars featuring various exciting themes, accompanied by a diverse selection of culinary delights and live music, created the perfect atmosphere for a successful start.
Austrian Wine Update with Chris Yorke

Chris Yorke, CEO of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board (Austrian Wine), presented the latest developments on Austrian wine. This was followed by the awarding of the international Bacchus Award. With this award, Austrian Wine honors people in the international wine business for their outstanding contributions to Austrian wine.
Masterclass
Three ASI World TOP Sommeliers presented their favourite Austrian wines

At this masterclass, participants were able to immerse themselves in the world of Austrian wine. This extraordinary masterclass was led by the leading ASI Top Sommeliers of the World! Raimonds Tomsons, currently world’s best sommelier from Latvia, french-born Pascaline Lepeltier, currently active in New York, as well as Hong Kong based Reeze Choi all shared their very personal views on Austrian wine.

To accompany the main VieVinum fair, events hosted by exhibitors and wine-growing regions offered visitors plenty of opportunities to deepen their wine knowledge and get to know the people and stories behind Austria’s wines. From rooftop parties with a view over the city of Vienna, to relaxed get-togethers with Austrian winemakers, to big bottle parties and fine music - VieVinum brought Austria's wine-growing regions to the city.
