Located directly in the heart of Rust is the Giefing Family Winery. The estate stems from the 15th century and is designated a World Cultural Heritage. The vintner family focuses on the traditional Trilogy of Rust: dry, fruity white wines, concentrated red wines, and naturally the noble sweet Ruster Ausbruch. Each and every vine of their 16 hectares is controlled several times throughout the year to be guided into the desired direction. Excessive shoots and grapes are removed to ensure maximum physiological ripeness. Erich and Claudia Giefing work strictly according to controlled integrated production (IP) regulations.
