Austrian Wine at Vinitaly '99 - The AWMB Restaurant as a rendezvous of the wine scene

The largest specialist wine trade fair in the world, VINITALY/Verona took place this year from the 8th to the 12th of April. As a cultural city, Verona contributes significantly to the international activities of the location. The German and Austrian specialist public are happy to use the opportunity, together with business, to enjoy something of an Italian spring. And not for this alone is the wine country of Austria traditionally strongly represented. From over thirty exhibitors, the majority useed the stand of the Federal Chamber of Commerce for presentations together (Hall 2/Stand C5-6).

The AWMB Austrian Restaurant has been a highlight of the "Citadella Gastronomica" for many years. A cozy rendezvous for wine specialists from all over the world has been created under the expert hand of the Carinthian scene gastronome, Hias Kucher from Carinthia. To the traditional specialties - à la "collared beef" and "pancakes" - top wines from the exhibiting Austrian vintners has been served by the glass. A new feature is the cooperation with the AMA to the theme of "Cheese and Wine from Austria".

On invitation by Vinitaly, the Austrian Wine magazine Vinaria undertook a commentated tasting for a specialist public to the theme of "Austria's Grüner Veltliner". Appointed date: Sunday April 11th, 10:30am - 12:30am at the Exhibition Center, World Trade Center, Tasting Room B.
