In our family business, viticulture has played a traditional role since 1822 and is now in its third generation. The variety of different soils in Straß and the sunny vineyards on the Gaisberg, Hasel and Wechselberg, enable us to produce excellent quality wines from a wide range of grape varieties.
We cultivate an area of 13 hectares. About 2/3 of it is white wine and 1/3 red wine. Among the white wines, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Pinot Blanc are among the leading varieties, while Zweigelt and Cabernet are among the leading varieties for the red wines. The fermentation of the mash takes place in steel tanks at 18-20 degrees. Depending on variety and quality level, the wines are stored in steel tanks or wooden barrels until bottling.
