Winery description

We are a traditional family estate. Reinhard Haider cultivates 15 ha vineyards. Many years of experience, know-how and consistent policy of pursuing quality ensures wines of the highest quality in every category. Our vineyards are located in one of the wolds outstanding wine growing regions. Illmitz has a special climate generated by a succession of small, largly stagnant ponds, which lie between them and the Neusiedlersee. It is the mists rising off the lakes which makes this location so well - adapted to wines made from nobly rotten fruit: we can count on getting enough botrytis cinerea in most years. The climate is warmer than elsewhere in Austria and the growing season continues late into the autumn.
