The Muster wine estate lies in the southern Austrian province of Styria.
It is directed by Sepp and Maria Muster. The first documentary mention of the estate goes back to the year 1727. The vineyards were recorded in the Josephinischen Landesaufnahmen (Agricultural Records of Emporer Joseph) in 1787. The estate with the house name, Graf, belonged to the domain of Arnfels. Grapes were grown here for many generations.
On the steep sloping vineyards mostly cultivated by hand stony soils consisting of clay and silt sediments are predominant. In Southern Styria these soils are called Opok. The vineyards are now cultivated biodynamically in order to achieve the highest level of vitality in the soil, in the vine and in the resulting wines.
