Paul Kerschbaum is among the great „red wine architects“ in Mittelburgenland. A new barrel and tank cellar as well as a fermentation room was built as Kerschbaum began bottling his own wines in 1989.

A few years later it was necessary to add bottle storage and bottling facilities. No sooner was the maturation cellar with a capacity for 450 oak barrels added in 1997, then came the great 2000 vintage and everything proved too small. A second story was built over the entire cellar in 2001, where the fermentation facilities were relocated and space for an additional 44 oak barrels for malolactic fermentation was added. Finally, the capacity to store bottles and release them first as they were ready to drink was established.

To celebrate this accomplishment a new blend called Cuvée Kerschbaum
