In the history of Austrian wine making Josef Jamek played a pivotal role. In the 1950s he was one of a small number of pioneers who extremely focused on wine quality and launched ranges of dry and non-chaptalised wines with lower alcohol than was typical.
Today the fourth generation of the Jamek-Family is taking care of the estates´ vineyards. In top vignards like Ried Klaus and Ried Achleiten the typical varieties Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are planted. Some others like Muskateller, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay are traditional varieties in the Wachau-Valley.
