Winery description

Leo Hillinger’s vineyards are located next to the biggest lake of Austria - Neusiedler Lake, at the border to Hungary. This area enjoys a micro-climate of mild winter, and long sun-shine hours (~2000/a) throughout the year.

A complexity of loam, sandy and stony layers provides an ultimate and unique soil condition for both red and white wines.

Leo Hillinger manages a total vineyard area of 80 hectares.

The white wines cultivated are: Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gelber Muskateller; the red wines Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Shyra.
