Oskar Hager is yet another ambitious vintner in the Kamp Valley. He concentrates his efforts on the typical regional variety Grüner Veltliner, which makes up two thirds of his 13 hectares of vineyards. Riesling and a small quantity of Pinot Blanc are also produced. Zweigelt and Chardonnay are vinified in oak. Manual selection in the vineyard, organic fertilization, and gentle processing in the cellar make wines that reflect the soil, varietal character, and vintage possible. In appropriate years Oskar Hager also makes a stunning ice wine. It is understandable that the export market has welcomed this committed vintner with open arms.
