The corporate concept of this winery should be signed "with friendly help of the Mr. Ks"! Johann Schwarz originally "just" butcher and grape grower, was for years a contracted source of prime fruit to the dessert wine Guru Alois Kracher. In 1999 the idea of bottling the exceptional Schwarz grapes on their own evolved between the two friends and the inspirational input of the Austrian vintner Manfred Krankl (sine qua non) in Southern California was also employed. The idea was to breathe international flair into the Andau district bordering on Hungary.
