About us

Wine culture and tradition since 1141, the "cradle" Zierfandler at the highest level

Terroir-limestone soils of Burgundy wines.

The Freigut Thallern is one of Austria's oldest and most traditional wineries. Since 1141, when the property was transferred to the Cistercian order as a gift, this unique vineyard is farmed throughout.

The Freigut Thallern is one of Austria's oldest and most traditional wineries. Today, the winery is of three successful winemakers - Karl Alphart, Leo Aumann and Erich Polz out, which guarantee the high quality. Around 35 hectares of vineyards are farmed, which include some of the best vineyards of the area as the "cradle", "Ronald" or "student".
