The wine growing region Kremstal is the home of the Geyerhof wines. The estate has been in the family since the 16th century and was first mentioned in a document of the 12th century. Since 1988, the family has worked according to the principles of organic viticulture. Hand-harvesting, site-specific winemaking, patience, spontaneous fermentation, and of course biodynamic farming practices all form the cornerstone of the thoughts and deeds. Today, as well as in the past, arable land, hedgerows, cattle, draft horses, chickens and bees complete the idea of holistic farming. Diversity instead of monoculture. The vine as a smaller part of a larger whole. One can certainly say that Geyerhof is one of the organic pioneers in Austria.
