Uwe Schiefer, one of the top producers of the wine growing region Südburgenland, works on a 15 hectares mainly located on the finest vineyard of the region, the "Eisenberg", a steep schistous hillside and nearly all planted to the local grape Blaufränkisch. His aim is to take out the special character of the soil, clay with a big amount of iron, in his wines without using modern technology. The grapes are handled very carefully and he obstains from any filtration and fining.
