About us

Situated ca. 7 km east of the well-known wine city of Krems, the Berger estate in the wine village of Gedersdorf grows wine on 18 hectares of vineyards.

Steep loess terraces characterize the landscape in the eastern part of the Kremstal wine-growing aera. Their capacity of storing

the heat during the day and slowly giving it off to the vines during the night is responsible for the unique fruity flavour and fresh taste

of the white wines from the aera. The strenght of the wine is best reflected in the Gruener Veltliner, Riesling and Chardonnay types.

On the plateau of the hills, humus-rich brown soils dominate; red wines are grown here.

White wine is fermented under temperature control, developed in a dry state and stored in special steel tanks. This is how it keeps it fresh and frui
