Between the 2nd and 4th of June, Vienna's Hofburg Palace was transformed by the Austrian Wine Marketing Board and VieVinum into an international stage for Austrian wines.
A widespread spell of frost, that brought temperatures as low as minus 5°C overnight from 17th to 18th May 2012, has caused significantly more serious damage than originally estimated.
The VieVinum is Austria's largest and most prestigious wine fair, and is held every second year in the Vienna Hofburg. The biennial wine festival is open for three days during the end of May/beginning of June, and invites all wine enthusiasts to taste the new wines from over 400 Austrian producers and 100 international wine estates.
The next stop for Austria's cool wines super-show took place in the hip event location Venue One, in Chicago's West Loop area. There were 200 sommeliers and trade pros on hand in the afternoon to declare their ever-growing enthusiasm for Grüner Veltliner & Co.
