Translated, “Optimus quisque” means “Simply the best”, and it has been the guiding principle of the Sovereign Maltese Order of the Knights. The Lenz Moser wine cellar has been running the 50-hectare vineyards of the Maltese Order of the Knights since 1969. The vineyards have been run according to the principles of ecological and economical grape production for decades. The wine-growing estate is a member of the “Weinviertel Premium Wineries” association. Many pioneering deeds have their origins in the Mailberg estate, such as the cultivation of Austrian red in the “barrique” cask, the biological decomposition of acid and controlled, chilled fermentation. Particular attention is paid to the Grüner Veltiner, which develops its characteristic “hint of pepper” taste here.
