In the Wachau area, only one kilometre away from the Danube river, lies the winery of Johann Donabaum.
Before taking over his family winery, Johann Donabaum graduated from the Krems School of Viticulture.
By receiving top ratings from the Wine Spectator for his Grüner Veltliner and Riesling and collecting many prestigious awards in no time he became known as one of the most talented young wine producers. The great grapes of Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Neuburger are grown in hillside and terraced vineyards which enjoy cooler nights than those adjacent to the river. Donabaum's philosophy is based on constant search of the right balance between the traditional knowledge and modern thinking in order to reach the maximum quality of wines.
