The Weingut Graf Hardegg is located in Seefeld-Kadolz in the northern Weinviertel near the Czech border. Since 2006, the 30 hectares of vineyards have been farmed organically, and around 8 % have been renatured as biodiversity areas. The soils are mainly calcareous sedimentary and raw rock soils with a high sand content. The solely owned site Ried Steinbügel grows Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Noirs and Vionier as the base wines for sparkling wines.. In addition to the estate, Maximilian Hardegg also manages the agricultural business Gut Hardegg. With the creation of biotopes, water ditches, hedges and windbreaks or the year-round bird feeding and annual songbird count, the farm takes important measures for landscape conservation and biodiversity in the region.
