On the Spitzerberg in eastern-most Austria lies the twelve-hectare estate of Carnuntum-born Dorli Muhr. A western foothill of the Little Carpathians, the Spitzerberg features soils of pure limestone. On this south-facing slope, only tedious, painstaking efforts are implemented in order to preserve its old, cherished parcels especially where the classic Blaufränkisch variety thrives.The grapes are handpicked, slowly fermented with autochthone yeasts, softly macerated, partly foot trodden. The wines mature for 20 months in wooden casks and are bottled without filtration.
The distinctive terroir, together with the spiciness of the Blaufränkisch grape result in elegant wine with structure, length and plenty of freshness.
Since 2018, the vineyards are certified organic.
