The Hofbauer vineyeard is situated in the picturesque border region. In Unterretzbach, near the wine-growing town of Retz. Besides well-structured, fresh whites such as the Weinviertel DAC, a widely popular Pinot Blanc and a reserve-style Neuburger, dense and substantial reds are being made. The latest addition to the line of wines: a varietal Merlot. It grows on one of the best vineyards: "in Feldern", on calcareous loam soil and excells with its typical varietal characteristics.
