Winery description

The Gager family winery has been among the top producers in Austria since the mid-1980s.The winery was initially a source of second income for Josef and Paula Gager, but the success of their high-quality wines allowed them to eventually make their hobby their full-time occupation in 1999. Their vineyards are planted 100% with black grape varieties and have been expanded to now cover 35 hectares. At the core of their philosophy is the consciousness that they have a unique and special terroir that is the key to the quality and character of their wines. Their commitment to high quality helped to inspire their son Horst to join the family business full time.It is his goal to vinify concentrated and complex red wines of character. The teamwork is a guarantee for continued quality in the future.
