The blessing of the new wine, & Bacchus Wine Prize
In cooperation with the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, the Austrian Association of Wine Producers organises the annual traditional blessing of the new vintage wines. The event is held at the beginning of November, the location rotates on a four-yearly basis between the four main wine-producing regions Niederösterreich, Burgenland, Steiermark and Wien (Vienna).
At the same time, the Bacchus Wine Prize is award to an Austrian or international wine personality, who have made a significant contribution to the Austrian wine culture, and may officially name the new wine.
